I know a lot of students look at my blog and I wanted to officially share (part of) the boards that attracted DreamWorks to work with me. These were a set of boards for a short I wrote and it's about some sheep that want to go swimming in a lake, but run into some obstacles.
I only posted the first part on this blog, but you can see the rest here.
The producers, directors, and heads of story responded to the ideas and the "charm" of the drawings (the word "charm" came up more than once.) Hopefully that gives you an idea of what to demonstrate for your own boards.

Glad you posted this! It's GREAT to know what industry pros like to see. I visited Dreamworks this summer and I totally want to work there now. Oh, also I love the board when the guy spits his drink out. Awesome!
