The CHADES challenge for the week was "Captive Frontiersmen." I tried to capture that gruff, Davy Crockett spirit of intrepid men worn down by the unfettered wild. What do you think?

Tuesday Warm-Up Drawings

Spider-Man's Sidekick

I wanted to do some warm-up sketches today, and Austin gave me the challenge to visualize what Spider-Man's sidekick would look like, if he had one. I call him Tarantula:

I came up with Kid Arachnid first. I like to start (extra) silly.

And after that, I used that design as a jumping-off point to create an original hero. Not sure what I should call him. He has a tuning fork for an emblem...
